Full-Text Section Coverage

loading…

Most retrieval systems either carry full text or they don't — they rarely report its internal structure. SciX segments every full-text paper into sections and classifies each heading into one of five canonical roles, which is what powers section-scoped reads and claim extraction. This page shows which roles are populated and how full-text coverage has grown by decade.

Which section roles are populated?

Share of sampled full-text papers carrying at least one section in each canonical role. Headings are mapped to roles by scix.section_role.classify_section_role.

Full-text coverage by decade

Papers with full text (blue) vs metadata-only (grey) per decade. The percentage above each bar is the full-text coverage rate for that decade.
